Sign Up Criteria

  • The organization must be based in the Continental U.S., including Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico, and listed as a domestic entity within the travel and tourism industry.  It must be visitor-ready and open to both public and private tours. Additionally, the organization should be inclusive, welcoming all travel groups, including minorities, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and groups traveling with disabilities.

    Destinations:  A continental U.S.-based destination with rich, authentic, historical attractions is open to visitors. This destination must be tourism-ready to accommodate multiple visitors simultaneously. Additionally, destinations should have a dedicated website and/or social media page, as well as personnel available to respond to inquiries, leads, and RFPs.

    Attractions:  Must be a physical location, such as a hotel, museum, historical site, entertainment venue, or point of interest. These locations should be open to the public with specified opening and closing hours.

    Activities/Things to Do:  Tourism cultural activities are designed to immerse tourists in a destination's heritage, traditions, and arts, creating a strong bond with the local community. These activities include guided historical tours, museum visits, cultural festivals, local music and dance performances, unique dining experiences, and exploring heritage trails or cultural districts.

    BIPOC Travel Business Directory:  Any small or locally owned business that provides services specific to the travel industry. Examples include: travel agencies, bus companies, translation services, bed & breakfast, travel blogger, souvenir shop, and travel concierge, etc., Must be able to service individual or group requests.   A dedicated website is preferred.  A phone line and an email address for customer service inquiries is a MUST.

  • Professional Group Travel Planners: This individual or organization must be professional and capable of handling bookings for groups of 10 or more. They should have a dedicated website and experience in group pricing, creating itineraries, contracts, and group hotel room blocks; if applicable. IATA certification preferred or affiliation within a professional travel industry organization.

Prohibited: Any form of animal abuse, sexual content, or activities contrary to Tourism Cares Child Safe Guidelines, as well as anything deemed inappropriate, illegal for families and children.
